Plasma Active on Acer Iconia W700?

I've been trying to test/use Plasma Active on an Acer Iconia W700.
This is an x86_64 based tablet that should be a perfect candidate for
something like Plasma Active.

Specs:
 - CPU: Intel i3-3227U @1.90 GHz
 - RAM: 4GB
 - Video: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (uses the i915 driver according to lspci)
 - Display: Touch screen, 1920x1080
 - Storage: eMMC 64GB

I've been using the Kubuntu builds of Plasma Active 3, both the 13.04
and 13.10 versions.

With Kubuntu Active 13.04, Compositing doesn't work at all (graphics
are scrambled), but disabling it with Alt+F12 sets it to normal. At
this point though, the mouse no longer works (touch screen, Bluetooth
or USB).

With Kubuntu Active 13.10, it boots to a black screen and an X cursor.
If I try disabling compositing with Alt+F12, nothing changes. The
screen remains black. If I leave it 4 minutes for the screen blanker
to kick in, it is all drawn correctly with all controls/buttons etc.
Returning to the desktop, it just goes black again.

If I press Alt+F2, I can use KRunner to launch applications. All
applications start with no window decorations.

Opening a terminal and typing: kwin --replace adds window decorations
to open windows and any newly opened windows. The KDE Plasma Desktop
is not drawn, no desktop controls/widgets are visible.

Output from kwin --replace: http://pastebin.com/6ryYAnGB

Nothing is shown in ~/.xsession-errors

So, has anyone encountered anything like this? Any ideas what is going
wrong here? Any extra info I can provide to try and figure this out?

C.
