I think having apps developers will help Active core development as
well. We have all those KDE developers who got ExoPC at last Akademy and
not doing much with them, it seems to me important to start developing
new apps and porting existing ones so KDE apps would be more adapted to
desktop and hand devices. Spreading the word on how to start developing
Active apps will increase exposure of core Active code and will
therefore increase its development and debugging.
It seems the perfect timing to initiate this, before we are all busy
with Qt5 and frameworks port.

In KDE Edu we started a new app which is a Memory game and which I
slowed down from a 4.8 release in the hope it would be a versatile app
(not a traditional layout with menubar and all this stuff we don't need
for kids apps) so it's another reason why I'd like very much having
those 2 Edu people at the meeting. Aleix and Laszlo are very good
developers and can help with core coding as well.

So far there are only 2 core developers registered for the sprint plus
Thomas for one day.

But it's your call on if this is on target or not. This is only my
reasoning and I asked this list before asking my team, Marco answered
positively. If this is restricted to design decisions and core stuff for
PA3, I agree it's not relevant for Aleix and Laszlo to be there.

Best regards,

Anne-Marie
