That will all be possible with our new plugin system. In theory, at least.
You just have to remember that we're using HTML/WebView for displaying the
conversation, so whatever you intend to do with the message, the output
have to be in HTML (and later in QML).

Possibility - definitely. Plans - not really. I actually talked last year
to KOffice/Calligra people about this and it's not exactly trivial, still
doable though. We have proper "tools" in KDE Telepathy exactly for this, so
most of the work would have to be done on KWord and I was advised that it's
at least 6 months of work (that was however one year back). We're about to
introduce a proof-of-concept with collaborative Kate/Kwrite, which might
then serve as a great reference point. I suggest to contact Calligra folks
and ask them about this (it would be awesome if you put
kde-telepathy at kde.org into CC ;).
