Hello Django,

Thanks for reaching out. This is not really a visual design topic; more 
a technical one. The wallpaper part of it is tracked by this Bugzilla 
ticket: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393781. Feel free to CC 
yourself so you can find out if and when the feature gets implemented!

I'm not aware of a ticket tracking the request to allow screens to be 
visually merged for the purpose of maximization, though. This seems 
risky to me, and less likely to get implemented, because logically it 
would really only work with adjacent screens that share the same width 
or height; with all other screen arrangements (which is to say, probably 
most of them), maximizing a window across screens could result in window 
content being cut off.

That's just my off-the-cuff impression though; the people to make a 
decision here would be the KWin developers, and even then, only if they 
get a Bugzilla ticket requesting it. :)
