Could it be that 
/usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/lockscreen/LockScreenUi.qml
 is not properly upgraded in Kubuntu? in my case I upgraded my Kubuntu system
from 21.10 to 22.04 and 
I didn't have this issue.
