my default screen saver is the blank screen from kde. 

i have noticed that if i let the screen saver lock automatically and i unlock
it manually several times a day, i will find several instances of
kblankscrn.kss in memory

killing these instances has no detrimental impact to the machines performance
as far as i can see.
