The flicker remains me some report about a flicker when the user had dekstop
compositing (effects) and it was being activated during the login.

The B&W and plasma panels dissappearing looks like Plasma was crashing and
restarting.

However, you said you are not experiencing that behaviour anymore.

Which are the problems you have now, only the first one ?
