I am running kde 4.2.0 beta1 on kubuntu 8.10 with following nvidia drivers:
ii  nvidia-177-kernel-source                      177.82-0ubuntu0.1            
              NVIDIA binary kernel module source
ii  nvidia-177-modaliases                         177.82-0ubuntu0.1            
              Modaliases for the NVIDIA binary X.Org drive
ii  nvidia-glx-177                                177.82-0ubuntu0.1

It still freezes randomly sometimes.

I know of people running kde3 with non nvidia chips and it still happens to
them.

Anyway to troubleshoot this?

Will try get them to vote for this bug.
