[Uml-user] Missing menu items and tool bar

Greetings

I am experiencing a weird problem. I compiled from 1.1.1 source on RH9 and umbrello will start from the command line. However, I am missing Diagram and Code menu items, and the tool bar appears as a single grey box. I don't see any errors from the build, and no log file from the use. Can anybody give me a clue how to troubleshoot this?
