I did a Git pull this morning and there was an update to UML Classifier.
I built and ran the software with the safe test files - first under the
debugger and then standalone.
In both instances the files loaded until done and I was able to look at the
Route diagrams. 
It looks like the SEGV has been fixed.
Thus loading the AIXM UML and diagrams seems to be working.
