What you described is a common method of browsing the modell and it is
really quite needed. So that I can go from one object to all diagrams where
this object is used as well. An automatic diagram stuff would be cool, but
pretty hard. So the first thing to have would be a simple browsing. Maybe
remember structured analysis (sa). You make first a context diagram, with
just one function and the systems outside this functions. Then you go
splitting this function into more functions in another diagram. The new
functions are maybe your packages. And then you take another diagram for
each function and so on.
