Strange, http://download.kde.org/ does seem a bit tempramental.  I've
changed it to
ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/snapshots/

look for kdesdk-DATE.tar.bz2

It really would be a big help if you were using the CVS sources (because
you're patches are too useful to miss out on :)
