I congratulate you on working out how to get round that.  I does seem
awfae kludgey though and I certinaly think that we shouldn't have to edit
Makefile.common.

I'm curious if you can build other KDE applications, kwifimanager as a
random example:

There must be a "right" way to do it that we arn't following exactly.
