This looks similar to Debian bug 835127
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=835127

Unfortunately, we were never able to figure out what was causing the 
crashing. There have been a handful of releases since 2.3.9, and Tellico 
3.0.2 seems to be in the Debian repository now (though it requires KDE 
Frameworks 5 libraries).
