I guess what has happened is that a thumbnail has been generated, and then this 
thumbnail is the icon for the link?

So when the user clicks on the thumbnail, the image viewer is started and the 
full sized picture from its location in the pictures folder is loaded.

I want to substitute a simple underlined link for the thumbnail.  The reason is, 
for these particular graphics, the thumbnail is no more informative than a 
simple blue underlined link would be.

The tip to have a look at a link and a thumbnail and see the differences, yes, 
should have thought of that!  I'll have a go with a backup copy and see how I 
get on and come back.  Thanks for that.
