Version of IDE supported?

OK, thanks.

Leads to another question, keeping in mind that I'm a user of IDE
through taglib in a very minor way. Suppose, for example, that when I
finally get current with taglib v1.7.x and someone uses the Perl
interface to insert a relative volume tag. Will they not get a tag that
is incompatible with players that support only v2.3.x? (And then beat
up on me :-) Or am I missing the point?
