I don't seem to find that link. Could you point me to it so I can
remove / replace it?

For some context on why we are not providing flatpak: We've
experimented with that, but the flatpak sandboxing is simply too
restrictive. I order to be able to install R add-on packages, we'd need
to be able to interface with a system-installed R, but that seems to be
out of reach.

As Meik already wrote, we do provide official AppImages, however, which
do no suffer from the same limitation.
