Ok, probably some spaces-in-the-path issue as well, I'll look into that later.

Looks like it. Could you edit rkward.bat (should be installed in 
your_kde_dir\bin\rkward.bat)? Change the last line to
	CALL "%R_BINARY%" CMD "%DEBUGGER%" "%RKWARD.BIN%" %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
i.e. quote %R_BINARY%, %DEBUGGER% and %RKWARD.BIN%. Does that change anything?

Is a file by that name installed in %KDEDIRS%\lib ? Is %KDEDIRS%\lib in your 
%PATH%?
