I was wondering the same thing. I have made no final decision on that
pros:
- Can and will be extended -> more easy to maintain a short file
- In general shorter snippet lists
- It is possible to keep two short snippet list open
Cons:
- in general complexer file structure
- If JS functions need changes (extensions, bug fixes) all xml need to be corrected by hand -> risk to miss something
- Inexperienced uses might get confused if they are not familiar of Rmd file structures
