Most of this is good. However, I am rather a bit attached to the extra logic we have in i18n/CMakeLists.txt and compile_po.cmake right now. Importantly, this has a rule to skip translations that are not at least 80% complete (unless overridden by -DACCEPT_INCOMPLETE_PO=1). This simple heuristic has proven to be quite useful for basic quality control, in the past. (This also avoids some bad cases of half-translated UI, which are not really helpful, esp. with lots of R and statistics terms thrown into the mix. And yeah, I suppose I should look into contributing this as an optional feature to KI18N_INSTALL()...)
