missing menus in macOS

Sounds annoyingly similar to this one:

One interesting difference is that you write the symptoms are not 100%
stable. What happens when you switch between different types of
windows, after the bug has appeared?

Data, Anaylsis, Plot, Import, and Export missing might point to a less
mysterious issue with plugins not being loaded. If that is the symptom,
does it help to twiddle with the pluginmap settings (e.g. change order
or pluginmaps, in order to force a rebuild)?
