gahhh. While starting to work on this I discovered that qtwebengine is
not available on Debian/Ubuntu to this date. I must admit I'm not so
impressed of the way Qt has handled the switch to webengine on several
counts...

I'll keep you posted on my progress, here. Meanwhile, the updated Mac
bundle is available on the mirrors. Are there any other links to that
besides our wiki?
