Hi all,
this is not a fully laid out release timeplan, but I think the time has come
to start getting ready for the next release, and I'd like to set a few soft
deadlines (can be adapted to fit your plans, better, so please speak up, if
you don't like them):
1) Release should probably be in the first half of April. If time allows, a
release around the 4th or 5th of April may be realistic, but if we week or
two longer, that's still ok.
2) No significant new functionality may be introduced after Monday next week,
i.e. March 19 is the last day for significant changes, like e.g. addition of
the other CLT plugins.
2b) Anything that is not reasonably stable by March 23 will not make it into
the release. "Reasonably stable" does not necessarily mean "bug free" or
perfect, but it should be complete, functional, and ready for testing /
review.
2c) If you want to add new functionality before the March 12 deadline,
remember it should be stable by March 23. If you think this is not doable,
consider focusing on other aspects first.
2d) If you want to add new functionality after the March 12 deadline, or not
expected to become stable by March 23, please ask for guidelines on where to
put the files, first (and I'll make up some), so it's easy to exclude those
files from the 0.4.7 release.
3) If testing goes well, and no serious issues come up, the release can be
frozen (barring simple or important bugfixes) around March 30, and
translators will be given roughly one week to update translations before the
release.
Regards
Thomas
