I suppose the real thing would be a specialized plugin / widget which is not 
easy to implement right now (probably impossible to implement as a plugin, 
rihgt now): It would offer several means selecting a color, including 
standard RGB/HSV color selection widgets, entering the color as a hex code, 
etc.
For now, maybe the best solution is this:
- Create a color option plugin for embedding
- This plugin will be very simple for now, and simply offer a dropdown list of 
maybe 30 colors (including "default")
- In the future this plugin will be extended to allow all of the things 
mentioned above.
- Since it is embedded, all embedding plugins will be "upgraded" 
automatically.
