I agree that it's good enough for now, and certainly not much of a priority. 
Just something that "would be nice to have in the long run" (and we have 
quite a lot of todo items of that variety, and many of a higher importance).

I'd be more worried about whether it will be too useful with 600 entries. 70 
choices is quite a lot to pick from, already. 600 entries - in my opinion - 
is just too much to handle (spanning many times the height of the screen). So 
I'd suggest to leave it as is.

The real problem to tackle is representing the idea, that a certain set of 
options (of whatever type, be it text input, numbers, dropdown lists, ... 
this should not make much of a difference, technically) can be set separately 
for each of a number of items (and one default). There's simply no such 
concept in the code, so far (but of course, it's on the TODO list...).
