Meh. Come on.
1) I fully support the idea that at a freeze things should be frozen. This was
not ideal in the past, and it's great that you want to change it. Having a
soprano version plus tarball to depend on is a great idea.
2) However, how about giving people one release to get used to new things?
So far some rules have been ignored, next time people will know that rules
will not be ignored, fine.
