I have seen this many times already, so I'm quite sure in fact.
svn update tries to do the deletion before getting the new files, it doesn't see
that the old and new stuff are similar. And the deletion fails when done from within
the checkout [or if any file that is not in svn is lying around].

We should have done this earlier...
