I think the summary of the thread is that we basically agree that libs is in good shape and beta quality, same for some modules. I can follow Dirk's suggestion that it will be good to redirect attention to the apps by freezing the api. Also there seems to be no good reason to not freeze the api solid.

Reading all mails I now think we should follow the schedule we decided on earlier:
- next tagging will be the beta 1 tagging
- freeze api solid (except maybe for the list we have made in this thread)
- start the feature freeze as planned
