Maybe your idea goes in a different direction, but if I don't miss something it
could be extended to something I'm waiting for in rekonq for quite some time:
sessions. (I didn't find the time to implement it myself so I would love to see
someone else implementing it)
Sessions would not only allow to group tabs in to different tasks, but also to
save, stop and load them independly of each other. Moreover they could easily
be integrated into KDE's activites, by saving which session was open on which
activity.
Anyway +1 for your proposal (although my opinion doesn't matter)
