Alright, I should have added the clarification "with the X copy-paste system".

The entire "copy URL" sequence of action (shortest path) with the mouse only 
is:

Double-click + right click + copy + select URL + right click + paste

With a "Clear URL bar" button, it becomes:

Double-click + Clear Url + Middle click

Net win.
