Alright, TOM is good, but we can't do TOM-only. We need to provide a way to
get access to standard categories anyways. We can't expect every app to be
raptor-aware, especially if we're planning to be the default for KDE, or if
we don't want our users to use two menus.
So that part will be already done with kickoff, and we will simply estend it
with a TOM data source (which is quite tricky, if someone has already
researched it and wants to provide a documenting paper, please go for it).
If nobody has already looked into it, I'd love to set up a little technical
meeting where we could discuss how to implement TOM (how do application
register themselves, registration policy, and so on...), but *after* we have
a (basic) working raptor. If someone wants to bring this topic up in mailing
list before, please feel free to do so.
Bye,
-Riccardo
