Moin!
I like this discussion and the parallel you draw, Johannes. But, to stay in
your picture, I don't think of us as the restaurant. We are the ones that keep
lots of restaurants clean, so people will not go away...
I like to learn from the environmental movement. Consumers are willing to buy
a more expensive carrot, because there is a seal on it, stating it is grown
ecologically. And, at least in Germany, the name of these seals clearly
communicates them being eco (e.g. bioland, Ökoland, Naturland, Bio nach EG
Ökoverordnung...).
So people don't buy carrots, because the carrots have an eco seal attached.
They are buying carrots, because they want to eat carrots. But which carrot
they buy and much they are willing to pay for depends on the the attached
seal.
Same for us. We dont run restaurants. Our "restaurants" in the picture are the
businesses, initiatives etc working upon our infrastructure. So I don't see
that a reference to "privat" in the name would be bad in any way.
And yes, we can always use a made up word and start fill it with meaning - or
we use something people can at least relate to, even though there might be
other downsides.
But, I am not good at names and all open for better suggestions than my
working title "privact". (Even though I kinda got used to it by now...).
I am really interested in other opinions!
Cheers,
Björn
