Advice on a Plasma task-model extension for MWS Qt platform.

Dear KDE folks,

I am looking for a kindly KDE developer to help me get some tiny patches
(~ 59 lines) into Plasma.

I have been a KDE user long enough that I had the mug to celebrate the
launch of 1.0.

At present I am working on the Mercurius Window System (MWS), my
contribution to a future where Wayland is the default and X11 is
deprecated for good reasons. I am not an X apologist and support the
decision to retire it after 40 odd years.

However, I do value a world where you can run any program off any
computer on the network no matter which one you are sitting at. For
example, run the data visualisation on the computer with terabytes of
data, the CAD program on the computer with the expensive graphics card
and the music player on the machine with the music collection. My KDE
Neon laptop is an old i5 ThinkPad so I couldn't possibly install
everything on it directly.

Mercurius preserves this functionality in a Wayland-centric future,
whilst adding zero-trust security, professional-quality audio and
accelerated GPU graphics.

The patches to plasma-workspace’s task manager are small. They allow
WindowTasksModel to load a task model supplied by the Qt platform when
one is available, while retaining Plasma’s existing models otherwise.
They also provide an empty startup-task model for platforms without
startup notifications.

This lets Plasma’s taskbar work in a Mercurius session, as can be seen
in the screenshots at the project website https://mercurius.tebibyte.org

The patches work on Debian, FreeBSD, Kubuntu and openSUSE. Before
adapting them to master and opening a merge request, could someone
advise whether this is an appropriate extension point, or suggest a
better way to provide task information for another platform?

You can also email me directly as chris at tebibyte.org if you might be
able to help.

Many thanks in advance,
Chris R.
