  To illustrate that, just try, with master of KTextEditor:
  
  export QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1.125
  
  kwrite with some file => select 100 lines, zoom font in and out => I get no artifacts
  
  export QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1.0625
  
  > same
  ======
  
  export QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1.1
  
  > artifacts each X lines
  ========================
