OK, thanks for the explanation. So I can confirm that I am definitely not
seeing any fading. About 5 seconds before the energy saver turns off the
screen, my screen goes straight to a black screen with the backlight and mouse
pointer still on. Then the screen turns off. Could you please help me diagnose
why this isn't working?
