Plasma Meeting 3rd October, 2016, 12:00, via IRC

notmart:
* simplified krunner: config baed upon plugins again, categories based was 
brittle and based on locale, lots of code killed (purely ui, backend still 
supports both)
* fixed plasmashell double wallpaper config dialog on first startup
* Kirigami QQC" port:
** reworked OverlayDrawer in Kirigami2 (just happened to work on 5.7.0, on 
5.7.1 and 5.8 breaks, so refactor to match Drawer behavior, uncovered and 
fixed a bug upstream in qt https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/172307/
** reworked OverlaySheet to be a simpleQtObject (QQc2 Popup class wasn't 
suitable) so no useless Item api and internal management of who is a child of
** layout fixes
** fixed paddings here and there

bshah:
- Found issue about contact sync plugin crashig, its some SSL related problem
    - Reported against kio - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369569
KDE bug 369569 in frameworks-kio (general) "Crash in KIO::AccessManager when 
request from libkgapi is made" [normal,] https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?
id=369569
    - Workarounded by using QNetworkAccessManager instead of 
KIO::AccessManager locally
    - Now contact sync service works
- Some more progress on debian based mobile IMG
    - Now kwin can start on debian based mobile IMG
    - Was combination of multiple issues including udev rules and some other 
issues
    - Will publish proper images with basics this week possibly

llucas:
- been working on the video all past week almost 30 hours

d_ed:
- fixed stuff. See phab and RB. Done.

Riddell:
* 5.8 tars made
* do check over the announece, info page and changelog https://www.kde.org/
announcements/plasma-5.8.0.php
* although there's not much we can change in the announce due to translations
* I'll add the video of course if llucas calls it final
* I've also been building 5.8 in neon and it's in the secret pre-release user 
archive if anyone wants to test it

sebas:
- worked a bit on indexing plugin metadata, see plasma list
- some bug triaging for kscreen, seems all pretty good for 5.8
- started on kscreen UI improvements
  - moving to a QtQuick KCM (ConfigModule)
  - starting porting the current functionality over, will take some more time
  - currently on the output settings for mode and refresh rate
