Minutes Plasma 'hangout', 8-2-2016, 12:00 CET
Present: notmart, kbroulik, mgraesslin, sebas
kbroulik:
- had a look at KRunner bugs and features and fixed a few, there's a bunch of
review requests on Phab for it
- created a KIO job for "show file in folder", ie. open dolphin, scroll to and
highlight the file
- Calendar has proper back/forward buttons and a "today" button now
- Most is on Phab, also released a new blog post just now http://
blog.broulik.de/2016/02/outside-the-stellarator/
mgraesslin:
- we have a lock screen security vulnerability caused by Qt fixing problems:
turning all screens off unlocks the screen
- working on rewriting the input handling in KWin, the base idea of the
rewrite is to turn the spaghetti code into nice scoped event filters, e.g. a
LockScreenEventFilter
- mostly adding unit tests for that
notmart:
- components api branch: starting to become a bit divergent, want to merge
this/next week, but
- perhaps in a new repo already? Yes ... will request new repo
- trying improved approach for edit function in subsurface
- simple systray, correct load/unload plasmoid functionality, still missing
categories and manual hidden/shown (connected to that i worked around a bug
connected to manual show/hide in the old systray and yep, totally needs a
rewrite, couldn't figure out if it wasn't an incorrect model or incorrect
representation by qml but unlikely because even replacing the gridview with a
simple repeater things still didn't work)
- working on improved tooltip transitions handled by new kwin effect: https://
git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/126968/ and https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/
126980/
- resurrected weather dataengine, Kossebau is working on resurrecting the
applet
sebas:
- bit of hacking on kwin's drm backend, pending comments from kwinners
- went over libkscreen bugs, closed half of them (Plasma 4 is unmaintained),
about 20 left, some of them in XCB, which I have no idea about, but there are
generic ones, too
