It seems to be providing the features needed to display a given time however you want it. In your case the result should probably be something like this:
headerTimeText.text = Qt.formatTime(new Date(), "h:m AP")

I don't know if javascript's Data object works properly when passed in Qt.formatTime..
If it doesn't then you have to take the C++ route instead.
