Sure. I've opened this topic to improve the pager for default usage:
- Show it even when you have just one VD to fix my usecase. Which is very valid.

That's the intention and that hasn't changed. Apparently most of you
seem to disagree here. Apparently i'm the only one that dislikes
having an empty space shown by default..

For me the default pager simply doesn't work. So i'm obviously not in
favor of moving anything out of system settings and in the pager as
long as the defaults aren't even workable (for me).

What are you using for a setup anyway? Single display i suppose? If
so, i ask you to hook up 3 displays and put your VD's to 1. Drag an
application to your third display and close the app. Now turn the
third window off and open the same app again. It will open on the
monitor that is off. Now you will likely find out how "inconvenient"
this pager is. It's quite width and not showing anything at all.

@Martin
You comment about "an ancient relic" somehow makes a lot of sense :)
If that's the case and the desktop grid is the future then why don't
we just drop the pager completely (as in to /dev/null) and write a
completely new "pager" that exposes desktop grid functionality? This
seems a bit apple like but sounds very appealing to me.
