it uses the default wallpaper as is defined in the currently used plasma
theme.
it probably may need more fallback but i sense a broken distribution here
ie not installing the kde default wallpaper but still having the used plasma
theme pointing at it without correction
i would be surprised if every newly created activity doesn't come out with a
white wallpaper as well

there was yesterday a fix in the greeter, should solve the unlock issues
