System tray: project

So, can I create new branch in kde-workspace (I'm asking for a 
permission to push)? I can create a new repository and add it and 
kde-workspace as 2 different remotes.
One more question: can I use C++11 features inside system tray 
subproject or it isn't possible for now? Qt supports some C++11 features 
and, I think, KDE will use C++11 in the future.
