Yeah the main scope of my proposal is positioning ourselfs as the guys that 
still care about the mouse/keyboard driven desktop...

its more than polishing our many problems, its improving the mouse keyboard 
driven desktop acknowledging it is different and it needs different UI/UX 
paradigms than the touch world, but without looking like the old decrepit guys 
that think that doing nothing is the best thing....

so "back to basics" seams the best metaphor, improving the well by making it 
more round. not reinventing it because sometimes the well really works great.
