AMBIGUITY ALERT: you two are using the word "activities" differently :)

Marco is talking about Plasma's Activities, which are backed by Nepomuk.

Karan is talking about classroom activities, which are layouts for the
classroom containment.

this is going to be very confusing; so i'd like to suggest that we find a
different name for the classroom 'activities'. perhaps "lesson sets" or "class
layouts"?

anyways .. karan, you probably do not want to be copying appletsrc files
around; what you probably want to be doing is sending bits of javascript
around, probably modeled after (or even directly using) the stripped-down
version of the desktop shell scripting[1] that Plasma KPart uses[2]. those
bits of javascript can then be run by the Classroom containment to populate
itself.

this will allow different screen sizes and won't rely on fiddling around with
configuration files which are not meant to be used for runtime modifications.
