Plasma.ToolButton and menu

Hi

I tried adding a menu to a Plasma.ToolButton's nativeWidget but the menu 
appears under the other widgets as seen here

I had the same problem with Plasma.ComboBox but playing around with ZValues 
helped. Probably because the menu is owned by the nativeWidget.

Is the anyway around this or an alternative to using ToolButton?

BTW: I'm using the Python bindings as usual ;-)
