Keyboard Layout applet

Hi all,

Something to think about for after 4.6.

Keyboard kded module now has two interfaces - the standard icon, and the applet. The standard icon has the
problem of not really obeying the plasma colour scheme (and maybe it has some desirable features missing).

The applet, on the other hand, can be anything a user could desire, and currently works rather well (colours
included).

So, some time ago, we were talking about a way for applications to be able to add plasma applets automatically (to
the tray or somewhere else), and if plasma is not running, show a normal notification item (systray icon). I don't
recall it was discussed in detail or solved in any way.

Any thoughts on the matter?

Cheerio,
Ivan
