[Feature Request] Autoconfig ext-monitor

Yes Luca, I am interested in reducing the number of things that should
be configured by the user.
(Specially in conferences when all bugs raise up ! => Murphy Law ?)

There isn't someone who started doing a Google SoC project this year
about external monitor config. ?
