two thoughts:

a) does this need to be an option? could we just store this information and show somewhere both the creation and last mod date?
b) that config dialog needs to be reworked; the general tab should be split into two, the color entries simplified and harmonized (there's no need for two radio buttons, for instance; a checkbox would do) ... but that's not really related to this patch :)
