we're already discussed the changes to kdelibs/plasma, and i'm fine with 
those.

my only concern here is that now that it isn't a layout, we'll need some new 
way to share layout schemes between containments. eventually, i want it to be 
easy to share layout strategies such as this one between arbitrary 
containments.

something to consider, but i think these patches can go into trunk.
