not all the devices listed there are supported by LinxuMCE's current Orbiter.
example: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Apple_Ipod-Touch

we obviously don't run on any of the really low end devices; *but* i think
there's a way around this, really.

from what i gather on all those low end devices, LinuxMCE isn't actually
running on the device atll: the device is used to control or interact with
LinuxMCE running elsewhere.

to me this sounds like a great role for JOLIE to play. the scenario would then
be:

* LinuxMCE is running as a media player on machine A

* machine B (say a Nokia N Series device) is powerful enough to run Plasma
apps, so a "native" Plasma interface it provided to that device

* machine C (say a Series 60 phone) a non-Plasma interface is delivered, much
as already happens

all of this can be glued together using JOLIE so it doesn't become a messy
tangle of varying control interfaces.

i don't see this affecting the web interface either ..

i think it's really a matter of sorting out the design of the LinuxMCE control
system first and then thinking about the UI delivery next.
