fuzzy-clock patch

Hello!

I patched the fuzzy-clock in branch to fit itself properly into a horizontal 
panel. I am not familiar with the changes that happened in trunk since 
branching, so I would appreciate if somebody else could apply the patch, i.e. 
port it to trunk.
